Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Heh. The thing I like most is that the TQ is higher than the HP. I'm kinda proud that I took a stripped out junkyard block and totally redesigned it. I'm so glad someone took it into the PCM and made her work that way she should. I think the biggest thing is the sense of releif. Now, all I need to do is drive it. No more "feeling" whatever was going on. Piece of mind is worth tons.
I wanted to send out a thanks to all who had input. It really did help as some systems were way out of whack in the PCM. I appreciate the insight and the suggestions. I also wanted to put out that I am a new follower of Jeff's saying "Get a tune, dammit!". Trust me, it helps......a lot! Makes all the difference in the world.

Wow! Congrats on getting it all straightened out, Carl! Just another example of blindfolded darts at a dartboard with mailorder tuning. That's quite the impressive difference in the graph from before and after!
very glad to hear you got it all sorted out Carl, we knew that car was leaving a lot of the table.
That was the whole point to dyno day for me. I knew something wasn't right. There just wasn't something, but I couldn't fix it mechanically and the dyno really brought out the problem. When Walsh's hooked up the wideband, the dyno and fuel pressure stuff, the problem came shining right through. Honestly, it was a little unnerving knowing how badly the car was calibrated, but still it would run. Always loved my F cars. I found also (not that it's a huge difference) I recently changed out my dynomax (splitting case) for a Magnaflow and had it completely welded. I picked up 2hp (nothing real noteable, but still, a tid bit). I was concerned, though, because it was quite a bit quieter than before, but man, when those RPMs went up, I found myself cringing, waiting for the motor to grenade. Louder than the Jake's dyno run.
Now I look forward to driving the car, instead of wondering what's gonna flash a problem the next time out.
It's really too bad that we didn't get AFR readings at the last MiFbody dyno day like we did the year before - that would've answered your question right at the dyno day.

I take it you saw the bottom of the second graph (most recent). That was the reading with it. First one, literally, all over Hell. Second one, nice and smooth.
Yeah, the first one reminded me of last year's dyno day - mine went to 14.77 AFR (which I think was the highest it could read) and stayed there the whole WOT run.
oops...I hardly ever check the tech tab on this site anymore and just came across it now, looks like I am late to the party. Sorry steddy!
BTW there is more left in that tune if your timing is lower than 25. These 3.8 engines love the timing to be around 26-28*, so you should be able to get some more out of it and play with the fuel tables a bit more too.

2004 GMC Envoy - Tuned, Airraid Intake, rest stock
2005 Malibu - Stock, anyone have a ecotec factory gm supercharger for me? lol

Honestly Travis. I'm kind of happy the way she is. I'm sure I could go crazy with it, but then again, this fall/spring, I'm going to be getting the '79 up and reasd to hit the track again and honestly, no matter what, I won't be able to top it with my '96. I love them both, but they each have their place. The '96 is just a decent car with not bad performance (for a 6). The '79 was the 'Graph killer, now I'll be racing her like 95% of the time. To be honest, it's just really cool to feel everything working in harmony and not having to worry about anything for a while. It's been a longer road than I truthfully would've liked, but in the end, the drivetrain is totally new, the body's near what it was when I bought it. I'm happy with it.
It was good to hear from ya again though. Haven't seen ya around much, then again, work's been hectic for me too.
