A little update...I just finished seting the new gears up. Was a little unhappy about the runout on the ring gear. No matter what I did, I could not get under .004 runout. Anyways, that played a little havoc in my backlash settings. The pattern I think came out decent though. I'll post pics later.

I mounted the center section in and turned my attention to the disc brake set-up. I really didn't want to run the disc/calipers that came on it because the rotor is non-vented and the caliper is cast iron. Unfortunatley the housing ends are for the big ford tapered bearings so the LS1 backing plates I have won't fit. So I have come up with a plan for a hybrid brake set-up....I think it's going to work out quite well....I hope I'll post up pics of my progress later.

Looks like you're doing a fantastic job, James. (Just what we would expect from you!)

But, you better step it up a notch so you can be ready for the two Furrin Group Autocross events on Saturday and Sunday at the West Michigan Auto Auction facility near 84th Street & US131.
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

I wanted to go to these events SO bad Doug, but it's just not gonna happen. I have the rear mounted in the car but am waiting for my driveshaft to be done being built (should be done today). I also have to finish my brake set-up....then.....I have to break the gears in easy for 500 miles before I can beat on them Have fun this weekend and take lots of pics, just don't forget the memory card

Looks good. Paint job on the rearend looks really good. I just finished going through my 3rd member over the winter and put a locker in it. One thing nice about the ford 9". It gives you lots of options.

Picked up my new driveshaft yesterday.....3 inch chromoly good for 1000hp.....should just barely be safe...

A little bracket I made to hold the T-block.

This is what the original ford backing plates looked like

I cut a bunch of crap off so I could fit the stock LS1 calipers and abutment brackets on. I waterjet cut some 1/4 thick cold rolled steel to use as spacers to get the caliper centered over the disc and then welded them in place, drilled and tapped a M12 hole for the mounts.

                                Painted up
