You want to talk about depressing.......

Started it today and it feels like something is seriously out of balance, shaking the whole car, im assuming that cant be good, haha.

Got it all loaded up and it goes to the shop in the morning, looking through the inspection hole and where the starter goes, id didnt find anything promising. Big gouges, nicks, scrapes in the flexplate, the heads on the converter bolts are so messed up from whatever hit them im not sure how the shop is going to get them out. Even more impressive was when whatever broke and was flying around in there came out the whole opposite of the starter, it took a small piece of the oil pan with it.... It doesnt appear to be leaking, but see theres a hunk missing, so I guess we'll see when it comes apart.....yippe.

Ouch, Spencer! I hope its not to serious, like broken flex plate wouldn't be to costly or bad. The bit** of it is you have to drop trans to see whats wrong. Good luck buddy.

Wow, doesn't sound good. Do you plan on getting this all finished up before Woodward or Back to the Bricks?

A local place, phils transmission, is going to take delivery of it tomorrow, and pending no huge surprises, will be done with it by 5pm for me to pick it up. My dad runs the shop for a company with alot of vehicles, if theres ever a trans problem they go there. So im getting a really good deal. They do alot of high performance stuff too, built the trans for my dads bosses car, an 8 to 9 hundred hp cuda. Very nice car and wicked fast.

Just keeping my fingers crossed that it just needs a flexplate. If thats the case ill be driving it tomorrow.

A little impatient are we kyle? Dropped it off this morning, I talked to the guy who will be doing the work an he was quite impressed with the car, then he found out it used to be a v6, said he never would have guessed. I guess that means I did something right huh?

He was going to start on it as soon as they got opened up and is going to call me when he gets into it and finds something, no call yet, but I guess hes only had about 2 hours. Fingers crossed!

Shop just called me, 1 of the converter bolts backed out and went for a wild ride inside the bellhousing. They told me those were the wrong bolts, correct thread and everything, just not long enough. Turns out I was given wrong bolts, they are torque converter bolts, but for a V6 camaro, not a V8.... The v8 converter bolts are more than twice as long as the v6 ones. The shop is finishing it up now and my dad is heading over there with the trailer to pick it up at lunch.

damn the V6 bolts must be short because mine aren't long at all.

                                thats what I was thinking.
you have to watch longer bolts though. I have seen longer bolts bottom out then the TQ rattles
