Yours should be a little safer to hammer on then most 10-bolts, as it's got bigger axles and what not (you'd have to ask Russ for specifics), but it still is a 10-bolt...

The axles aren't the issue usually in our cars, its usually the posi unit itself that implodes. Or the gears if you have a higher ratio.

My 10 bolt is done for.
It whined for a long time before it went.
Ran sticks at the track w/ 1.965 60ft's ... no problems.

Lately I've been roasting the 275/18's (getting new tires, or so I thought)
And that did it in. Horrible noises on decel all the time and 1 time during accel (25mph and down) It's parked.

I say take it to the track and beat it like a .........

A little bit of gear whine is normal. I mean mine even has a slight whine on decel. I wouldn't worry about it. Now if you can hear it when you have the music blaring it needs to be looked at.

What would make it start doing this out of know where though? Thats what keeps making me wonder.
