  • 1997 V6 camaro Oil leak

Ok my kids 97 V6 camaro started leaking a little oil, looks like either the front of the oil pan or the front seal. Anything GOOD out there to add to the oil to stop this from leaking? I've used different cheap additives in the past on other daily drivers but nothing seamed to work. Anything out there anyone can recommend that will/might work? Thanks 68rs383

There is nothing that will heal a front seal other than replacement. Nice weekend project to bond with your kids.

        oil leak

Not sure if it is the front seal, looks more to be the oil pan. There is oil around the back also, hope not the rear main seal.

rear main seals usually are the ones that leak. From the front I am not familiar with anything commonly leaking from the front. It is always the rear.

You can try a cap full of brake fluid in the oil and it should swell the seals. At worst it does nothing. At best it fixes the leak(s). Even better, it fixes the leak and gives just long enough while frying the bearings to build another engine and give an excuse to add more power
