trans difference

what is the difference between the auto trans in a 94 camaro with a v6 and a v8 arent they both 4l60e?

I've never heard a full real explanation on this, just that it was necessary to do.

Obviously, the torque converter will be different. Same with the bell housing I think? I dunno, hopefully someone else can jump in. Mike Ridings would probably know.

Are the in/out shafts the same I would imagine the V6 model trans would have less splines and a lower torque capacity

i havnt looked at any of that but i have a v6 trans that maybe has 1500 miles top. could you use some of the parts from that trans to rebuild a v8 trans.

I just went through this. Sell it and buy a v8 tranny. They have different converters, bellhousings, input shafts, stater tubes, and can't hold the power. I wasted to much time trying to make it work. I'm just having mike ridings build me a v8 trans, should be done here any day now actually.

i already have a v8 trans so ill just use it i was just wondering becuase my v6 trans is pretty much brand new. thanks
