  • Camshaft recommendations

I am looking at changing my cam while I have my heads off to do a headgasket change and I figure why I have the motor torn down that far why not change the cam. So if anyone has some recommendation's on a good cam or information on how to chose the right camshaft I would appreciate the information.
Here's a sig with my old ride: (Everyone else has a cool sig I had to do something!)

What other mods are done to the car? What else do you plan on doing? What is the car used for?

Your best idea would be to call Crane or Comp, they will ask you questions about what's done to your car and could give you a reccomendation of what would work well with your setup.

        I'd suggest Cam Motion.

Call comp 3 times and see how many different recommendations you get Like Joe said we need more info on the car first.

All that is done to the car is a Flowmaster Muffler, traction control bypass, and that I belive is it. I plan on at somepoint adding headers either longtube or Mid's and probably doing TB bypass and a tune after I get everything done. The car will pretty much be a Weekend Cruiser with some short DD 14 miles round trip.

                        I'd get a mild cam.

It depends on what you wanna do with the car...personally i would free up that exhaust first with some headers. Cam wise if you want really mild you could do a comp 305 or a crane 227. It really depends on the plans for the car, and you probably already know this but you should upgrade the valve springs and such while your doing it

yea depends on your goals. If you want more power down the line and you get a mid sized to larger sized cam its gunna suck with what you got now but get better when you mod it more. If you put a mild cam in now and decide you want more power later you gunna end up putting in a diffent cam later.

exhaust should always come before a cam, is the car an auto or stick?
