i really honestly hate to make a new thread for another "what clutch should i buy" question, but it really is hard to decide when every other website you come upon says the exact opposite about the same clutch as the one before it.
so in short...
with my taxes i got a 2 piece rearmain 355 for my 92 Z28. i currently have a 1 piece rear main motor with a LT1 T56 swap.
i'm pretty confident that the RAM billit aluminium flywheel for the 2 piece block is a good piece, costs 406.99 from jegs. have heard nothing bad about that but i'm torn between the RAM powergrip and the spec2 clutch.
both are just a tad over 400 buck, RAM claims theirs has a little bit of chatter, but half the people using them, say they dont have any.
the spec 2 claims to be a smooth clutch capable of holding up to the power i have, but i've heard they are prone to exploding in general.
the motor is has 11:1 KB domes, world sportsmanII heads, monster lunati solid lifter cam and a few other miscelaneous things, am told its probably 450-500 horse.
anybody have personal experience with either of these two clutches, or another viable piece for the same money? TIA
