Rear End Swap w/Pics

thats some pretty good rust... but the rear ends and front control arms rust very easy, they pretty much were left uncoated from the factory. My V6 has never seen a winter and the axle and control arms are both covered in rust, but the rest of the undercarriage is spotless.

I know this is bumping an old thread but how long did it take to do the rear end swap? One day's worth of work, all weekend, or more than a weekend's worth of work? Assuming that the rear end going into the car is complete and it's just a pull out and replace swap.

Brain, I was told 4 hours if your good. Took me and friend who had no idea what we were doing about 6. Its not hard, just alot to do I guess.

Yeah you can do it in a day(easy) as long as you have no issues.. Rusted bolts, etc.. P.S. Nice writeup Kyle!!!!!!!!

yeah i think i had mine out in like an hour and could have the other back in in 2 tops.. it all depends on how rusted your bolts and stuff are

Hey derek, I think ill go ahead and keep them lol, So far the rear swap was my favorite upgrade

I just did this mod... Too bad it was on a Mazda 626 and not my bird. Within 4 hours we had the interior out, entire rear suspension down and apart and we cut out the rusted out strut towers and wheel wells. It should be an interesting project, that is minitubbing a an 80's Mazda.

B, if you and your dad do this I would think you could knock it out in 4-5 hrs.
Like everyone said if you have rusted bolts and what not it will take you longer and I would sugjest replacing anything that is in bad shape.

I would also get new raer swaybar end links, it's worth the money.

I would also wait till you get the motor in and get RA turned around or push RA forward about 10ft, you'll need the room.
