  • Quick Question, I Need Help!!!!

I have a chance to get some heads off a 2002 Z28. I have a 99 LS1, he says the '02's are LS1 heads but I thought in '01 all the z28's and SS's only got the LS6? Is there a way to tell? The reason I'm in a hurry is they are CHEAP, and I need to jump on them if they are LS6 heads cause if I'm not mistaken they are better heads. Help me out guys!!!!!

i didn't think ALL of them had the LS6, but I'm not the right person to ask.

If they're super cheap. Why not pick them up anyways? Always can resell at a later date for more $$$

Buy and sell. Its been around nearly since the dawn of time.

yeah if they are cheep you can always pnp the shit outta them and have them nice and built up for whenever you use them... make the valves touch and have just enough metal so they seal up...lol

Well, you tell me, they supposedly have 20,000 miles on them. Even if they are LS1 heads, are they worth $150? I think that's cheap.

They are just LS1 heads, no f-bodies came with LS6 heads to my knowledge but as said it would be a great idea to get them cheap and P&P them or send them out. If you decide not to put them on you could probably make some cash off them.

Well, much as I'd like to have a spare set laying around, I've decided with a wedding in less than 6 weeks, a baby on the way, and the fact I've got about 6 weeks to find a new job, I don't need these to make my car run, it runs fine. I'm gonna hold off, I really don't anticipate my heads taking a dump anytime soon. The Z only has 67k on it. Plus, I can't find any that are selling for what this guy wants, I really thought they were worth more than that, but I guess not. So if and when I need to replace them I will upgrade unless I can't afford it.

That just means you can save up for a nice set of aftermarket heads.

Bingo. Actually, the hope this summer is to get subframe connectors, and a stall converter. Maybe a 100 shot if things go well. But eventually, yeah, I want some AFR's

get em. youll shoot yourself for not snagging em to port and polish if you ever build your engine.
