is their any comapnys that make the 9inch kit for the f bodys? also What do u mean fabing the torq arm is not going to happen. so ar you saying now i need a 4 link.

Well what about a 12 bolt gm? Their has to be somthing out their besides 22k for a rear end.lol. I was thinking buy buying a Richmond gear set it would be strounger.

Strange makes the Dana S60 rears for F bodies. It's cheaper and stronger than a 9". Joel was saying you can't fab up the torque arm mount on a factory or aftermarket housing, you need a housing with the mounts cast in.

talk to scott at driveline solutions, he can take care of you. moser makes both 12 bolts and 9" rear ends for our cars.

the problem with the 10 bolt is the 7.5" ring gear. that is just not big enough to get leverage on the axle with high torque, making it the weak point. you cant do much of anything to beef one up since the ring gear is the weak point from the start.

i have never hurd of Driveline Solutions. Wheir is that at?

Also i have hurd of a dana 60 rear end but i have never hurd of it being called a s60.

Also i was guessing that was whatwas making the 10. so bad was the 7.5 ring. but I have been doing some looking around and GM makes a 14 bolt with 9.5 and a 10.5 rig. but their like hard to find.

I like the fact that the 9inch you dont need to take the axles out to change the gears. but how does that work?lol.

I would rather stick with gm.

you cant use any housing. you might have 4 dana's laying around, $50 says they dont have an f-body torque arm mount on the housing. thats what makes these swaps so expensive.

i would effinitly either talk to scott and driveline solutions or buy one of the axles from moser already made for you

I've heard horror stories about torque arms breaking off on Moser axles. They have some weird fitment issue and either special bolts or a modified mount for the torque arm to fit. There are several threads about them over on ls1tech. For the money, the Strange S60 is the toughest rear you can buy. The S60 is Strange's own hybrid Dana 60 gear set with their own housing.

I believe they make them for all 82-02 F bodies. Housing width is the only difference between 3rd and 4th gens.

honestly there is no cheap way around this, going with that much power you have to realize its very expensive and a rear is all part of it. You have to bite the bullet and pay 2K or else you'll be buying a whole lot of replacements 10 bolts and throwing money away. Speaking of all this what trans is gonna hold this power anyways?

Well i had my mind set on Buying the 9inch ford kit. also the guy that is doing my work said that He has a 3.70 detroit locker 3rd member all ready set up.

He was going to let me buy that off him for a lil to nothing. he is upgrading his bronco to a 4.10 .

So the 9inch right now is looking good. I just hope i can use the stock locations for the up grades.

I was going witht he 9inch now your saying thats not a good look.lol. I plan on getting the rear end ordered buy end of next mounth.

Also this year i am just looking at maybe 6-9psi. then have some fun with the car. next winter i will do a short long block. but I am tired of letting the car sit.
