Did this start all of a sudden, or has it progressivley gotten worse? Does it idle smoothly? Is the idle high, or eradict? Are you getting any black smoke from the tailpipe? Pull a plug and see if it's been running rich, lean, or otherwise. As mentioned, it could be a bad Fuel Pump or O2 sensor. It also could also be a bad timing chain, bad EGR valve, bad leak from your PCV valve/hose, etc.

Three words, Coolant Temp Sender.......sounds just like what a TBI car does when these sensors go bad.

lets try to parse down some of this:

could be a coolant temp sensor, if so it would be loaded up and black smoke would be coming out

you need to take some fuel pressure readings

        if low probably a pump

if ok - then you need to check the injectors - best done with two people
one person brake torques the vehicle while the other checks the output - they should be even and strong - if one is bad it will have little to no output and the other will have minimal output

tbi should be like 15psi if I recall correctly.
I have seem more than a few cars fall flat at WOT then speed up when you goto like 3/4 throttle which was caused by a plugged fuel filter

It was sort of a progressive thing... Did it like once when i was backing up.. then iono not that often.. then started getting really bad. And now its terrible. Idles pretty good sometimes it will slowly slow in idle then die..There isn't any black smoke... If it was a bad timing chain wouldn't the car not run?..Anyway to test if it is a bad EGR? Aslo on the valve covers there i belive is a hose that goes into the drivers side into the breather or what ever. what if it sint there would that have to do with it?

            Any way to test this?...

            No black smoke

Ill look into checking the pressure and injectors. how do i check the output?

visually down the tb - should have 2 strong streams - one from each injector

Well i just went out and did that.. Now how is the stream supposed to look. Should the stream be sort of cone shapped or like a iono i guess pencil shaped stream.

I have no clue if this is what its supposed to be like or not. But it seems to be a cone shape and when you give it some throttle and the butterfly's open up I believe is when it really is having its problem when it is going directly into the engine. It made some sort of a im not sure how to explain it really. Like when you take a bottle and blow a crossed the opening.. That sort of noise. But its seems to be when it has its problem is that so im not sure if thats it or not.

strong cone shape - noise is sounds pretty normal

now you need to check fuel psi - i believe 9-13lbs is an acceptible range 15 should be max

you can check the cts with a dvom. not sure what the readings should be but it shouldn't be open. You can check with a scan tool. Most of the time when bad it reads like -40degrees

Well i'll need to wait a day or two before i can get a fuel pressure reading. So i guess for now it will need to sit till i can figure this out. Well not like it was going anyplace soon. Just school to weld up my floor. But that can wait.

The sensor will also need to wait. Maybe if i can get it trailerd over to bay city i can just have my dads mechanics look over it to see whats up.
