  • Is this a line of BS

I went to Ross towing today to see if they had a trans for my car. The guy at the counter said that ONLY 95 Fbody 4l60e's fit the 95, saying that 94, 96, 97...etc wont fit it. Is this true, or is it BS?

Ok, well would it be possible (well, what would have to be done) to put a 2wd half-ton 4l60e in the camaro or a 700r4, cause they have a bunch of those trannys

according to hollander interchange only a '95 fbody trans works, it's not the bolt up it's the operation, the 4l60e is computer controlled, and '95 is an in between computer year

Ok, so lets say I wanted to get a 700r4. What would I have to do to make it all work?

you would need a bunch of stuff from a 93 (maybe 94?). (tv cable, etc)

you can retrofit a 700 with 60e crap though.

Yep, 95 was the bastard year for the computer systems on most GM vehicles.

custom computer for engine, all the parts and wiring from the car it came out of (it won't be a 4th gen that was all electronic 4l60e) if you want a different year trans you need a custom computer made (basically you will spend more making something else work than buying a brand new trans somewhere)
