Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I'll be replacing my power window motors next weekend, and figured I'd throw in new speakers while I'm in the doors. I currently have the stock Monsoon system.
I'm not looking for anything crazy, just decent/clearer replacement speakers for the stock locations.
What do you have in your car and what do you suggest?
Buy nothing but NAME BRAND audio... If your looking for something quick and "simple go with a good rated Kenwood speaker, want some good quality? Go with a infinity Kappa Speaker and dont look back. I have a few connections and the local Micky Shorr right there on woodward, but if your not in a rush the BEST place online to buy audio equipment is www.sonicelectronix.com Are you going to power these with the stock head unit?
Then just go with a basic speaker like Kenwood or Infinity the stock head unit is not going to be pushing many watts to the speaker. Any upgrade will sound better then stock.

Reason: fixed before grammer police quoted!
before you buy anything go to store where they are on display and listen to the speakers. Pick close as possible head unit to what you have, I have found many "brand name" speakers don't sound all that good. Last time I did this pioneer sounded heads up better than all the others. Things change and so do products, you don't have to buy them where you test them you can still order them and save.

Very true but then again I would never recommend buying any audio equipment from a place like Best Buy or ABC or any storefront like that. Go talk to people who know more about the products and sell the better line of equipment. Like Micky Shorr, Car Tunes and places like that.
EDIT: And by name brand I meant do not buy products like JVC, Clarion, BOSS... etc.

o·vr·kill [oh-ver-kil]1. an excess of what is required or suitable, as because of zeal or misjudgment.
whatever you do, make sure they are sealed to the door properly. I found that whoever installed the alpines in my car failed to do so.... and correcting that issue made them sound 100 times better!
Well I went to Best Buy to look at a less than impressive selection of speakers and told the salesman what I wanted to do and he looked at me like I was retarded.... I really don't want to ditch the stock HU, I like the factory look and I like my steering wheel controls. Just want to be able to hear the speakers when the windows are down with the T-tops off...
