  • Using Steering Wheel Controls with Aftermarket Heads

I am buying a used steering wheel of a guys bird and wanted to know if anyone has any info on installing it. Also I have heard there are adapters that allow you to control a aftermarket head unit from the steering wheel as long as the head unit has a remote control. Anybody know where I can get one??? Also I should not have to rewire the whole system just for the head right??

its doable... i have one of these units for my truck, however my truck doesnt have the controls so i never used it. you need them specific to your vehicle i think.

A guy on LS1tech has converted his steering wheel controls over to control his carPC. It's definitely doable.
