  • Bought some new parts!

I got my loan check, and after I purchased my new saxophone, I had about $500 left over. . . Let's just say I went to a junkyard and found some very nice things. . .

Item #1: Full set of the Dark Grey Leather seats, front and back. Driver's seat is POWER!!! lol
Item #2: 1999 Camaro RS rear spoiler, needs minor work to fix from accident.
Item #3: New driver's front seatbelt, matches the rest of them. The old one was fraying and not working properly.
Item #4: 1999 Camaro RS side skirts- Will be available for pickup tomorrow, he's going to take them off for me. Excellent shape.
Item #5: Replacement manual window regulator for the driver's door. . . This died a long time ago, thus the laughter at Woodward when people realize it takes 2 people to roll up the driver's window. . .

I'm currently looking for the RS or RKSport front ground effects peice, and Brian, do you still have the rear peice you had leftover from the kit you bought for your car? I need it now. . . lol

My car is starting to make some SERIOUS progress, and I expect to have the whole thing ready for paint within a few short weeks. Almost 1/2 of the car is fixed and in primer now, I'm going to pull the frame either Wednesday or Thursday, and I'll post up pics of everything then.

And to you post whores, I'm going to beat you to the punch. . . I know

Brian, you offered to sell me a rear GFX peice, it wasn't the RS one, it was a different one, but you offered to sell it to me about 6 months ago. Just wanted to know if you still have your extra rear GFX peice lying around, I'll come pick it up Thursday if you do.

The place I bought the parts isn't really a junkyard, per say, but a collection of cars that a friend has. He bought the wrecked '99 Z28 with the RS kit to rip the LS1/4L60E out of for a hot rod he's building for a customer, he bought a fire victim 96 Formula to take the LT1/4L60E out of for his '55 Chevy Wagon. Very nice guy, he gave me an excellent price on everything I bought, but I basically cleaned him out as far as 4th gen parts go. He's got a 3rd gen Camaro, but it's not his, he's storing it for a friend. I also happened across a 3rd gen T/A, black in color, with an auto trans for $2K on my way home, I can get the number tomorrow if anyone's interested.

I'm going to pick up the side skirts tomorrow, and I'm hoping to pick up some sheet metal to make my new rocker panels with tomorrow or Thursday. Just so everyone knows, I still have about $80 to my name right now, I just recieved my check from work, and I had about $20 left from my loan after we bought dinner today. I spent a total of about $340 in the last two days on my car, I'm really excited about getting it finished. Shouldn't be long now. I'm going to finish gathering parts for my body kit in the next couple of weeks, and I'm also going to go pick up a new set of side view mirrors, maybe upgrade to power mirrors. I'm also hoping to upgrade to power windows and door locks. I'm finally getting some decent work done. Thanks for the support, and beleive me, I'll have pics up tomorrow if the weather's nice.
