The good (or bad depending on how you look at it) thing about Autorama is it forces you to do ALL the things you have been putting off. And you STILL won't have enough time to get them all done LOL.

I'm not dumb enough to use spray paint under the car. I used a brush! Even then it was bad enough and I got drips and smears on a couple other parts while I was painting! Spraypainting the rear would have been a nightmare! The spindles and brake parts were also painted with a brush. Glad I've got next week off to get the whole thing finished up! It's probably gonna take me that long and then some!Originally posted by WMCCjamesTell me you covered the rest of the car before you sprayed any paint?

what paint you using on your rear end? i bought a rear last fall off an Anniversary SS with like 10000 miles on it, so the rear has very little rust on it, but im thinkin of puttin POR15 on it just to protect in the future too before the rear end goes on the car.-Derek-

Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator. Supposed to be better than POR15. It was on sale for $27 for a quart. It's normally $30.Originally posted by redfbirdv6what paint you using on your rear end? i bought a rear last fall off an Anniversary SS with like 10000 miles on it, so the rear has very little rust on it, but im thinkin of puttin POR15 on it just to protect in the future too before the rear end goes on the car.

Does that stuff go right over the rust w/o you having to totally prep the surface?Originally posted by GETGONEEastwood's Rust Encapsulator. Supposed to be better than POR15. It was on sale for $27 for a quart. It's normally $30.
I am fortunate enough to have a built in furnace in both my garages. We got the garage door insulated 3 years ago which helped soooo much once you get in there.

Here's a few more pics. I have the fronts all painted and put my Camaro SS caliper decals on. It's not back together because I'm waiting for my lowering springs and shocks to get here. I have to tear it apart EVEN MORE! It's amazing how much nicer everything looks painted from what the rusty front and rear looked like to what it looks like now. I still have to paint the rear calipers and would have done that today if I wasn't sick! I also replaced the decal 350 on my hockey stripes with Trim Parts emblems I got from National Parts Depot. They're not as wide as I would have liked so I had to space them out to fill the whole area. These match the SS emblems I'll be putting on. I'm also in the process of making a custom battery cover for my Optima. I bought an Optima snap on top piece but it's that nasty yellow color so I'm painting it. I'll post up pics when that's done.
