Do I need a special primer for the bumper?

Hey everyone, I'm getting ready to sand and prime my SS hood and front bumper skin. I know from years ago on a 86 Iroc that we had to use a special flexing agent for the front and back bumpers in the paint but do I need any special primer for the bumpers or will Duplicolor black primer work?....

No you don't. But dupicolor is the last primer I'd suggest.

You're already saving a bunch of money doing it yourself don't cheap out on materials! Ppg, rm, limco. Just to name a few. Go to a paint supply store not autozone.

edit: also, flex can be added to anything. But if you put it in one thing (basecoat) it needs to be added to all steps, primer, sealer, basecoat and clear. In my opinion, flex is junk, you are adding a foreign substance to your product. Also it is known to throw the color off and cause other issues.

Thanks mcalus, i ended up ordering all RMS paint, epoxy, etc...got a bucket deal of $498 for everything needed to re paint and prime/epoxy my whole car....
