My headliner was far from acceptable with tears in the liner causing that orange foam to show through, not good on black car.. so i went out looking for a new one but saw the $200 price tag and decided i would take a trip to jo-anns fabric store and buy a color and texture fabric i wouldn't mind in my car (dark grey interior). And then i started looking for a writeup, never found one so this is why im writing this one. Step by step instructions but not a lot of pictures during the gluing process for obvious reasons. Edit: remove the t-tops before starting for access. to the pillar screws.
Step one: Remove A/B pillar screws to loosen the interior plastic.
A pillar:
B pillar:
Step Two remove sun visors (3 screws) Also remove large pushpin in the center of the headliner.

Step three: Disconnect the thing i call a clothes hanger by prying the tab off with a flathead screw driver and working it out. Also just pull off seatbelt plastic guide.

Step Four: Remove the rear dome light assembly (two screws and disconnect the light wire)

Step Five remove black pushpin that youll find under the dome light assy.
Sorry no picture.
once youve got the headliner out lay it face up (cloth up) and get your material ready.

Step Six: cut an outline around the liner with about 2-2.2 inches extra to tuck up under the liner Very important that you leave extra.
Step Seven: Start with the front of the liner (part that goes up to the windshield) and spray that with some spray adhesive. ( i used 3M and it worked great)
Step Eight lay the fabric over the glued liner and stretch it smooth over the area. Repeat this step for the entire liner
IMPORTANT: leave a lot for the curves of the liner or youll end up with wrinkles or not enough fabric to tuck up under the liner.
Step 9: Once youve got your liner done, take a sharp nail or exacto knife and cut holes where you need your screws to go in for your visors, dome light assy, push pins and seatbelts.
( i tucked my extra fabric from the seatbelt guides back under the liner)
Then simply reassemble and enjoy the savings. I got all of my materials for under $20
Big thanks to my mom for her patience and fabric laying wisdom

No idea how the picture came out this way, but she looks stoned.
