Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
You can only clean it with acetone from a 3oz can from a certain brand based out of delaware and that can has to be orange in color with a blue label. They get their petrol derivatives off the coast of Kazakhstan with migrant workers. Oh yeah, you also have to use a brush with fibers from a unicorn's tail.
Anything else and your manifold will probably fall apart.

i let mine soak in purple power degreaser for about 3 days, took it out power washed it, rubbed it down with acetone, took engine enamel and gave it a thin coat, let it tack up then put a full coat on let that fully dry and put on another full coat.
Caution with that turbo idea...
According to Hot Rod Magazine, the stock 3800 crank is only good to about 400hp, and then your in fatigue territory. So not really worthwhile unless your a die hard series II owner and have a lot of cash to spend on a forged crank, and internals. The L26 (2004) would be a better foundation to build from since it already comes from the factory with forged connecting rods.
I use M.E.K. for my sealing surfaces.
Providing you keep Dexcool away from that motor, it should run to 300K miles before it starts to require any major stuff.

i've honestly never heard that. are you on fullthrottlev6? theres tons of guys over there running 15+ psi boost with no bottom end issues.
No, I'm reciting what I read from (What I believe was Hot Rod's) GTP monster build - when they went over 400HP they snapped the crank. I'll have to dig up the magazine, I've got it here somewhere...
With PM connecting rods, there has to be some limit.
Can it be done? Sure. How long will it last? - probably not long at that power level without modifications.
Do you know Which 3800 they are using? There are big differences depending on which one you use.
There are many people that "Claim" to do this, "Claim" to do that, especially on the internet. Hot Rod did it with a dyno, documented the results, and put it into print - hard to discredit that.
I'm sure someone will pipe up and say I'm wrong, but I've yet to see a car with that kind of power, live long with that kind of abuse without making Major changes to the engine/trans.
But hey -its your project man. Try it. If it breaks, your out a lot of money. If it works, you'll have a quick car.
**EDIT**
I believe I found the article I was referring to, but cannot find the exact edition which cites the issues.
Pontiac Magazine
June 2003 Volume 24 #6 "400-Horse GTP Build Part III"
August 2003 Volume 24 #8 "Beyond 405 horses: More GTP Upgrades"
I can't find the later edition, but if I do, I will post up the cited article.
