  • Caliper Colors...

I know it's not a camaro or firebird but this topic is preaty generic to all cars...

What color to do the calipers on a blue car.... my first obious thought is blue however i can't find a hi-temp "metallic" paint for the calipers and I hate the thought of just a standard non-metallic blue caliper on a dark blue metallic car.
My other thought was red, most hi-performance cars do red regardless of body color, and this way I wouldn't have to worry about metallic. But would it clash too much or be too bright? Keep in mind I'm going to be painting the wheels black too.

So, blue or red calipers on a blue car?

Neither, wouldn't see them behind those godawful stock wheels anyway...

I go with the exact opposite here. Paint all of mine black. Unless you have some big fancy 6 piston calipers behind some big thin spoke wheels. Then it might be ok to pick a bright color.

I see no reason to try and draw attention to a dinky factory caliper.

it just gives a different look, but even why paint them body color then ?

Bright blue, body color, silver, or black. Anything else will look tacky.

Silver. Anything else will look goofy with that color especially if you are going to black out the wheels. Blue and silver always look great together.

Sorry, I disagree. Black wheels - thats a given with me. I hate silver wheels. Black with a blue lip is going to be better than whats there now. At some point I am getting new wheels but for now, these are going black.

I have like 3 cans of that I'm using for the engine cover and other things but I'm afraid it won't hold up on the calipers....

If silver then why even paint? I'd just clear coat them the way they are... not sure If I like that idea.

                      I'm very undecided here...
