Curious. You wouldn't happen to work at Spartan's do you? Would you know a chap who is also a painter by the name of Ron?? If so, tell him Danny said hey.Originally posted by 86sc5 View PostI posted a while back that it will be painted at work. We have 8 down draft booths that we paint our fire trucks in so the final finish should turn out good. I will be spraying it with a medium gray sealer before the silver so there is no chance of color change over the blue to brown primer. In the spring it will be sanded with 1500 grit and buffed to a mirror finsh.

I will have to look when I am at work monday I don't remember the number of the primer. It is ppg and it is made to be rolled on for high build. It is non corrosive so it helps prevent rust. Even though this car has never seen a Michigan winter. I put on 3 coats with a small foam roller.

I wiped the Whole car down with acetone before sanding. Then I sanded the areas I wanted to fix. I will sand the primer along with the rest of the car at the same time before painting. I will go over the whole car looking for small inperfections and pin holes and fill them with spot putty before sanding it.

Did you just sand the body down in the spots you were not happy with then cover will roll on primer?Originally posted by 86sc5 View PostYes the the brown stuff on the body is primer.
How did you prep or clean your car before sanding and starting the body work? I am about to start sanding my car down and preping it for paint just like you and would like to know how you started. Also a link or product number for this roll on primer that you are using?
Looks great BTW!
