hatch glass shattered

anyone ever have their hatch glass just be shattered? i went out side today and noticed it. the tint has held it in place. there is zero sign of impact and my car alarm only beeped twice so it never went off. wtf!? i have a camaro hatch will the glass from that switch over? i am pretty pissed about the whole thing. my only thought it somehow the temperature did it. the inside was at least 120 when i opened the door. and the rest of the car is totally fine. gas cap was never opened and no body scratches. just evenly shattered glass.

That's crazy. I don't think it was the head, but cause if that was the case mine would of by now being a black car sitting out in the NC head all day.

Shouldn't have just shattered by itself, unless there was a flaw or pre-existing crack ... Any 4th Gen hatch window will work , for a replacement.

What do you mean your alarm went off twice when you unlocked it? When the factory alarm goes off when you unlock it that means the alarm was set off while it was armed.

its a aftermarket one. twice is normal 3 is when it was set off

Gotcha, stange. Deff never heard of glass in our cars shattering on its own. Ive seen windows in houses and buildings do it, but not a car.

I say bb gun. They do that to windows and its really hard to find

When I worked at the detail shop we left lunch. The shop was completely locked up, we got back and the rear window to the 90's thunderbird was blown out. Pretty sure it was the tempature.

I did the same thing to my fiances car. Hot day plus cold water = craaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Not good.

elite auto glass is coming out tomorrow morning 200 bucks and my tint guy said 75 to tint it. so 275 isnt horrible i guess. its almost the cost of the cc 466 i was gna buy tho
