    Yes the valve covers were sandblasted thoroughly before JB welding them..

      Valve covers are with my painter.. I totally smoothed them.. They will be painted with a metal primer first and further smoothed, then pewter metallic(apply secret template) and then cover with gloss black(remove template).. Should look cool.. Will post pics when done..

            I was never going to have him paint them. I was going to rattle can them.. So, so far I haven't had him change it yet..

              how hard were they to polish in the first place? Wetsanding then metal polish, but that's a lot of surface area to do.

              Used to own a Firebird.

                I paid to have the set on my car polished.. the set I modified were only slightly polished.
