This will be Larry in a few days!Originally posted by OIF1VET View PostThis is pretty much what it looks like.. But man, that would cost a small fortune to have them painted like that.. I like the idea but unless I start selling crack I don't think I could afford it.. The motor will not look like this in the spring..(that's all I will say for now)(haven't worked out my final plan yet)

Did a small search and came up with this: http://www.michiganchromeplating.com...waterford.html
Shouldn't be too much? Probably more than powdercoating though.

That looks stunning Larry! What if you had them chromed, painted the lines running down them red, and then had them cleared? That would look pretty good and I've never seen it done before.Originally posted by OIF1VET View Post

I'm not offended at all they cost me $20 to have coated and the surface (aluminum) was never smoothed out so that probably is why they aren't perfectly smooth but they really look much better in person the light reflecting off of them isn't doing them justice.Originally posted by 1slo_camaro View Posti dont mean to be a dick or step on anyones toes so im sorry. and im not trying to bash you or anything. so again im sorry but the finish on those dont look so good. it just looks really bumpily to me personally. ive always seen and thought powder coat was supposed to be nice and smooth. so to me it looks like either bad prep of the product ahead of time or bad laying of the powder coating. just my two pennies.
Larry looks good man. cant wait to see them in personDoing less with more

there is the chrome powdercoating you can get too which should be cheaper than true chrome. I might be doing mine with that for my ls1 rebuild------------------------------------------
