NOT a fan of that shiny shit... 3rd and 4th Gens didnt come with all that Chrome BS and personally I dont like chrome.. My engine bay looks like shit.. Cuz its a street car thats meant to get beat on.. I could have painted the engine bay and all that... I dont wanna be under the hood polishing everything. Its all in the personal taste

That is a clean engine bay.

I'd like to see that setup. Sounds like it's close to what I was picturing. I wish I could find a pic. Basically it looks like and old Dodge. Not very much to look at except the battery, engine and radiator. Wires (on some) were under the manifolds, just cleaning the whole look up and keeping clutter to a minimum.

Keep it how it is now Minus the master cylinder cap and the FRC's. That cap looks out of place and is way to big and FRC's just look like shit period.

here are some pictures I just went out and took of the engine bay. Click them to view the higher quality image. this is how the car currently sits with the chrome edging on the front wires hid and bird on the lid. This will give you all a better view of the current engnie bay instead of the picture from earlier where i just took the car out of storage.

At this point I'm thinking of just getting the stainless plate to go over the frc corvette letters and then putting "trans am" on that either etched or in vinyl.

I appreciate all the feedback Any other suggestions guys?

chrome oil cap and power steering cap are needed.

                  hide ground wires

                  polish ac lines and condenser

                  remove decals off lid

                  polish brake lines and block

fill in vette words with trans am wording on frc

                  UMI passenger cylinder head badge

                  polish MAF housing

                  Polish tb

Just a start of things I would do.

I think it looks great as is Derek! I do like a lot of Travis' ideas tho. Subtle and refined, classy mods, if you will. Haha.

yep, mostly free ones too. Just ordered some "alluminator" polish from a company starting out on ls1tech, the factory metal pieces will be getting cleaned and shined up with that, starting with all the things travis mentioned. Hopefully that comes sometime this week and I can have some new pics up. Otherwise the other stuff I'm thinkin costs money and I will probably wait to request those for christmas, unless i cant wait that long lol.

you need to choose an accent and stick with it. either way looks great, i personally prefer the factory look. but chrome and plastic next to each other doesnt look right.

got some new metal polish that I am going to use on all the factory metal lines and pieces. I also got a stainless head plate that will be on the front of the engine. I'll have pics posted in the next few days after I get some polishing done

personally I think it looks awesome. the only thing I would possibly change is what has been previously said with the corvette on the covers. I like the subtle look and would probably just fill in the corvette and smooth the covers and go with a wrinkle coat black finish. other than that I am jealous.
