  • Powdercoating Wheels?

    Does anybody know how much a good powder coating job for my wheels would cost? Completely stripped down and baked at the right temp.

    a company will charge an arm and a leg. I'd just paint them, it's easy and cheap, and if it chips or if you hit something you can go buy a can and fix em'.

    Go on xceed and PM Jefford15. He does that stuff on the side.

      I think Jeff knows of a good place that charges around $150 per wheel...we will probably chime in sometime tonight

          I just dropped off a few pieces at QC coatings today, they do amazing work.

            Alloy Wheel Repair in Troy.

            I've had 2 sets done by them to somewhat specific requirements.

            1. Media blast existing wheels.

            2. Powdercoat a specific GM color code (for the second set, there was no existing powder in that color...they offered to custom mix one for me...I told them to "just get close"...and they did).

            3. Machine back the bare aluminum areas per factory requirements.

            4. Powdercoat clear over the entire wheel.

            Frankly, I couldn't be happier...cost was $125 a wheel, but that does vary on wheel complexity.

              I got my fatty for my CR250 coated at QC. Yhey do some great work.

                a kid I know got all for of his rims coated for 200 bucks but then again they didnt turn out that good ether

                  man, i've got two sets of ss wheels, ten spokes i need to get done, another set of chromes i need to get rechromed, any suggestions would help, thanks all

                    i had a mine done at AWRS also, they did an amazing job. $500 total, even machined the lip. plus the 2 week turnaround was pretty quick
