Depends where you go. Depends on how much body work and prep work is necessary. Remember, a paint job is only as good as the prep work done.

I would say if you were looking to have a legit shop paint it OEM black and just the outer panels.

You do the prep work (Perfectly) $1500-2000. This is based off of the orginal estimate I received to paint my car the original GM BRIGHT RED. Or somewhere around $100-150 a body panel. Luckily black is a cheap color as long as there is very little flake in it.

But, just know that black is difficult to get perfect so it will require more finish work than other colors since black shows flaws easily.

However, if you did not do any work you would be somewhere between $2000-2500.

If you can find a local guy or student you can probably get it done for the cost of the materials. $500-1000.

Now if you choose to do a Maaco paint job, do the following for the best results:

DO NOT TRUST MAACO WITH PREP WORK! USE ONLY FOR SPRAYING PAINT!!!

Since you are using their paint supplier and not your own I would suggest to purchase the higher end paint "package", since there are different qualities of paint. My aunt had her car repainted with the "economy" product and the paint went bad within a couple of years.

I think they call it the Presidential or Ambassador, but make sure it comes with a warranty so should something go wrong it is on their dime not yours.

Should be $500-1500 with no necessary prep work. Prep work / repairs +++

Also, make sure you are ready to make the investment. Allot yourself an extra $500 or so as a "just in case" fund should you run across a larger bill.
