Where to mount a Fire extinguisher

Same thing ive been thinking about. Im thinking just on the tunnel in in the back.

I would, but my nitrous bottle is mounted there...

why not on the...is it the B pillar? the one that goes from behind the door to behind the other door, right behind the t-tops. mount it behind the driver or passenger on the vertical part.

Keep in mind that a fire bottle, or fire system's only purpose is just in case you cannot get out of your car.. its to save your life.. IE.. your trapped and you don;t want to be burned to death..

having it in the trunk would do you no good unless it is a system. where you have a saftey pin and switch near you in the cockpit.

ya get a cage and a full fire suppressant system. I think jason had a cool one in one of katech's recent ZO6's

No offense, but that isn't the first place I'd think to put a fire extinguisher, just because in case of fire, I'm not going to reach back between two highly flammable bottles of the giggle juice to get the only thing in the car that can save my ass. Of course, if I had two bottles of the giggle juice that close to my ass, and the car caught on fire, and I was trapped inside, I'd be more concerned with getting out alive than stopping the flames. . .

Come to think of it, I'd have an emergency window-breaking hammer mounted in arms reach of me to escape if I had your car. . .

That setup does look sick though. . .

those bottles wont explode from flames im pretty sure. only if you were in a super bad crash and a valve broke and started leaking, then ya. you're f-ed but in that case it doesnt matter where in the car they are. haha

All nitrous is used for is that extra oxygen molecule in the atom.

Hell, for that reason, why not inject pure oxygen, haha...

Guess I've seen "The Fast and the Furious" a few too many times. . . lol That scene where the nitrous tanks explode was pretty cool. Why can't all ricers meet their end like that? I didn't know nitrous wasn't flammable. I guess you do learn something new everyday.

Yeah I know, I already nixed that idea.. I'm thinking behind hte drivers seat on the floor or on the floor on the pass side up towards the dash.. Without a cage I don't have many options..

What about on the side of the center console on the passenger side, just up almost under the dash so it would be out of sight a tad bit.

Depending on the size of the extinguisher, it would most likely prevent the glove compartment from opening.If it were mounted too low, somebody would get in the car and move the seat forward and cause some damage. . .

Mount it to the passenger seat somehow?
Maybe using something that can be strapped in by the seatbelt?
and just strap it in when you go to the strip?

It'd be really easy to get to in case you ever needed it.
