  • I have a tranny. . . I meant that it would bolt in about the same place, I'll probably wait until I can afford to do the V8 swap, it's more of a gain over the V6 anyway.

    • from what i've collected...the 4.3 is no different than a 350...it's the same motor minus 2 pistons.....just my 2 cents....i'de still say either fix up and modd what cha got...or get an F-Body that has a V8 in the first place....just seems a lot easier....

      • with the costs involved in the swap it would be cheaper just to save and buy a v8 camaro....i had planned to do a v8 swap in my 91 rs 3.1..i researched it a lot and in the end its cheaper to just buy a v8 camaro. and yeah the 4.3 is just a 350 with 2 cyl missing. it takes the same size pistons and everything

          Yea, the 4.3 is a 350 in every way that matters. You will still have to buy new motor mounts and most the stuff needed for an LT1 swap anyways. And then you have a motor that probably has the same or less horsepower then your 3.4 and also gets the worst gas milage of any V6 ever. LOL.

          4.3's are terrible, just wait for a V8.

          • W/E, guys. . . I loved that 4.3 in the blazer. . . and a 3.4 that puts out about 160 hp IS NOT MORE POWERFUL than a 230 hp 4.3. . . . just so you know. . . I'm still a long way away from an engine swap anyway. . .

                    • yeah i was just gonna say my 2003 S10 that i had prior to my camaro was just about the "best S10" before they ended...and it was rated at 190...i think the 4x4's were rated at like 200 for some reason though i remember?.... anyways...yeah my SS get's the same gas mileage as my S10...and my SS is more than twice the HP!!!
