An engine can always be rebuilt, and IF I end up rebuilding the 3.4, I'm gonna spray the hell out of it and maybe even save up for a turbo or something. I think I'd rather have a high-mileage V6 that looks great than a low mileage V8 that's wrecked. . . I think I am going to keep my car, and just fix things as they need to be fixed. If the motor and trans have made it all the way to 260,000 miles and they don't make any noises and they run and drive great, I don't think I am going to have any problems soon. . . Plus, everyone has a V8! I want to be different! I think I'll go with a turbo'ed V6 on the juice and whoop the hell out of stock V8s and ricers and stuff. I decided that I don't really need a powerful DD when I have more power in the Monte in the garage than almost anyone else I know. . . . Just my $.02 lol

Sorry dude but nothing sounds gayer than "well my dad's car could smoke you!" I'm sure Matt's dad's camaro would walk it no problem but he never brings that up. rebuild your engine with all forged internals though, that'd be bad ass and unique for sure.Doing less with more

yeah I beg to differ that'd it'd be cheaper to make a stock V6 faster than a stock LT1 with less cash, but then again I know nothing of the V6 cars. Turbo kits aren't cheap any way you mix it though.Doing less with more

Actually, as I have said before, I paid for a lot of the work that has been done to the Monte Carlo. . . So it is just as much mine as it is my Dad's. Anyway, I am going for gas mileage and reliability, not exactly trying for power. I don't have a crapload of money to put into the car, so I am doing what I can. Stop criticizing me! lol j/k I will bring the Monte out to a show or two this year

Not to mention, building up a six cylinder to performance level in a car that wasnt made to be a high performance 6er(Grand nationals, TTAs) is just dumb. You will have more money in rebuilding your six with forged internals and then doing your turbo setup just to end up with what a stock to mild V8 will be putting down.
Just for gods sake... forget about building up the V6, its dumb.
Save up for a while and go buy a Z or SS.

I might buy a late 4th gen SS after college, but not before, it'll just become another money pit. I think I'm doing pretty well with the 3.4 right now, it's really a dependable car, and I would trust it to drive any distance. That engine is solid as hell! lol So, How about that color? Should I just go with the Orange and add black stripes? Maybe Black with some orange stripes? The orange would be less work for me, because all of the parts on the car are already cut in, so I would only need to prep the outside of the car.Nick H.

Agree'd!!...... besides the whole "gas mileage and reliability" my car gets on average 15-20 city if i drive normal. that's just as good as my old V6 S10!!!!! and my car is pretty reliable. it has broke a few times. but never to the point where i was stranded.
All the turbo and forged build up is a "pipe dream" shit gets really expensive real quick! it would be way easier just to get a newer Z or SS like other Matt said1998 Camaro SS Bullseye Turbo

When I can afford it, I'll get a nice Z or SS, but that's quite a while away. I have never been stranded either. . .Nick H.
