make sure you check all the wires and make sure none of them got cut, cause then you'll have problems, been there done that. How is the hatch, bent at all?

          hatch is straight
          wires are all good
it drives straight down the road, doesn't pull so the alignment cant be that bad but may be off

looks like it bent at the corner of the 1/4 and the inner-bumper.

BFH mod! Bang it out and Evercoat it if you want a cheap fix. Take it to a shop to have a new one installed for about $1700.

the right way and best way is to replace the quater pannel itself. then u get to look at whats damaged on the inside fix anything u can. put a new one on and paint it. i had a sunfire that i fixed in class both quarters where smashed in trunk was gone and everything was pushed into the back seat. took me bout a month to fix so this should take about a week or 2 it u do it that way

and if u want any help just ask me i love doing body work.

I received a quote for $450 to get it fixed, that sounds really low to me (of course it was Maaco)

a good body shop gave me a quote of 1500 to fix it

i dont think i'm going to be able to fix it and have it turn out good myself

My buddy wrecked his taurus and the body shop told him $2400. Me and him spend and afternoon on the car and took it back and they quoted us at $650. See what you can do yourself and then take it in.

The 1/4 alone is gonna be $500 or more. I saw one on ebay a while ago(pass side) that was OEM GM and it went for $650 or something. I think they said in the auction listing the price from GM was about $1200. Sounds like Macco wants to just hammer it out and slap a gallon of bondo over it.

i just went and talked to a guy tonight about painting the engine bay in my car, he's going to be taking it in a couple weeks. he lives out in clarkston and does "side" work out of his garage which is actually an entire body shop. he has a frame rack and a down draft booth in his "garage" his name is carlo's and his number is 248-701-8618 might be worth a shot to see what he could do. he's a bit backed up right now so if you're not in a huge hurry he'd probably be able to do it
