pfft, i wouldnt care if it were heavier or not for 1/4 of the price. you only put like 1/4" worth of coating on there anyway, how much could that possibly add up to? My cousin didnt even use a gallon for his car, so thats what 2.5 pounds? I know several knowledgable people who have used it, and i have never once heard a complaint about weight before. One guy who used it has a civic that has a quieter interior than a BMW because of it. Its not like Brian is striving for lightweight with his car or anything, it probably weighs almost as much as the average z28 already.Last edited by JoeliusZ28; January 31st, 2006, 10:50 AM.-Joel

Nah, I'm just striving with no money
Hence why I can't get the dynamat, I have 120 to my name right now, and that's gotta last me for two more weeks. I'll look into the stuff at home depot, I wanted to get this carpet in today after class, but maybe I can do that stuff today... how long does it take to dry and cure? 5 minutes hopefully?
Honestly I'll probably hold off on it. It really was no big deal to take it out, I like working on my car anyway, so I could always wait until I have the money, then get the right stuff and do it right and take my time, rather than just throw it all together in a hurry to have it finished today. I've never really felt that I needed the sound deadener anyway. I like hearing the road and all that, to me that's part of driving a sporty car.

i like hearing the road when i open the windows personally, but yea i agree. I dont remember how long that stuff took to dry. My cousin por15'd his interior and tarred it with this stuff, one of them took 24+ hours to cure but i think that was the por15... so i couldnt really tell ya. It goes on thin, so i would imagine it would dry pretty quick, but that also means youll probably need a few coats.Originally posted by meissenNah, I'm just striving with no money

Yeah that sounds like a good plan. Plus it may help protect against corrosion from the inside of floor panels. Plus that stuff is not that heavy. You would not notice a small increase in weight from this stuff. If you are really worried about weight than just throw that pile of blow up dolls of 14 year old girls out the window and voila!

Well, impatient me...

There's a LOT of trimming and cutting involved that I wasn't prepared for, but hopefully it should be finished tomorrow. Most of the time today was spent just trying to figure out how it all should be done.- Brian Meissen

looks a LOT brighter because of the flash. In the first pic, where the brake pedal is... that's the true color.- Brian Meissen
