The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. And the bad part.... but I'm gonna fix it tomorrow morning.
I got all the carpet out and in the basement right now. I'm supposed to be comparing the two and seeing if the new carpet is the right size. If all goes well, the new carpet should be in by tomorrow night. Wednesday if I take my time.
lol. I'm going to "seal" the rust tomorrow with fiberglass resin, atleast that was my dad's idea, then fix it from underneath. I'm not worryin about dynamat and all that, it was pretty easy to get the interior gutted. Took about two hours, and I had no clue what I was doing, I just knew I had to remove basically everything from the interior. I swear half of the time was spent breaking the Torex (sp?) bolts loose, the ones that go through the floor and get bonded to rust on the underbody... yeah... lots of fun that was. Anyway, if I really decide down the road to worry about dynamat, then I'll do it then. Otherwise, I don't need it right now.
meissen you should definitely sound-deaden the bottom of the car while its apart. you dont have to use that expensive dynomat crap, they sell 5 gallon buckets of rubberized-ashphalt sorta stuff at home depot that does the same thing for about 15 bucks. its a black bucket if im not mistaken.
Doesn't that rubberized stuff weigh more than the dynamat? I know that the sound deadener I used in the MC is really lightweight, and it was really cheap too. I had to put in something to muffle the BBC and Flowmaster exhaust enough to talk to my passengers!
Hell, you could pour concrete in the floorpans and not have any sound come through there, but your car would start to handle more like a tank. I say go for the expensive stuff, use dynamat. They have a good product that has built a good name for itself. That's just my $.02
