Is WMCC the main owners/drivers for the HRPT? It seems from the discriptions given that they are the main people involved....

Yea...us and about 4000+ other cars

Imagine the Lane show times 4, cruising the back roads of our great country for seven days, stopping every night for a local show with the locals bringing there cars. IT'S AWESOME!

Hi Ray, I know just what you mean, I went through the same emotions last year, when we took a year off the HRPT. And just like Al said, we're gonna miss you guys!

I plan to take digital and film photos of the Hot Rod on the Skyline Drive.
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

Ol Time Rock N Roller On Board

Chris, you asked if the WMCC was the owners/ makers of the HOT ROD POWER TOUR? By no means. This is the 11th year the Hot Rod Magazine has put on the TOUR.
See their web site, at www.hotrod.com to read up on all the details, and to keep up to date, with what will happen for next years tour route.

All right you guys, you got Dennis all excited now about the route of the Power Tour next Year . He says we have to start saving our "extra pennies" for the trip, expecially if it comes close to here & goes out West . He has always wanted to cruise out West - Being on the Power tour makes it all that much more fun.

Hot Rod Power Tour ---- 7 car shows in 7 cities in 7 days with a total drive there and back of around 4000 - 5000 miles depending on where you are and where it starts and ends. 5000 of the coolest cars in the world at the kick off show the first day. Then 2500 - 3000 of those cars on the highway driving to the next venue the next morning.

                                A typical grand and glorious day the PT is ;
Up at 5am ... pack up, grab a bite, be at the venue by 7 to leave at 8

Best part of the day ... passing and being passed by unbelievable cars for hours on end. At many of the overpasses there are fans with posters and bedsheets with "good luck" and things like that. All waving and yelling. Closest I'll ever be to being a celebrity

Arrive at the next venue about 2-3pm, clean the car (usually with no water), enjoy that days show which runs till 8pm.

Get checked into the hotel, grab some dinner (by now it's 10pm), then hang out in the parking lot benchracing with other gearheads and listen or watch for people rasing H%LL.

By now it's 2am and you need to get 3 hours sleep before getting up to do it all over again. By the 3rd day you are so completely exhausted you are running on pure adrenaline but you can't wait to keep going.

The small towns are the best ... everybody in town, sitting out by the road watching from lawn chairs. In 2004 in Coffeeville Kansas, A group of like 3rd graders got caught as they were walking to a field trip. So you got 30 ten year olds standing on a street corner doing the "burnout" sign with their finger. There was more rubber at that intersection than at Martin Dragway.
In Jackson, Mississippi in 2003, they cops ENCORAGED US TO DO BURNOUTS!!! I have 15 minutes of video of cars doing burnouts one after the other with a cop with a big sh$t eating grin on his face doing traffic control for us.
Last year coming out of Wisconsin, the state cops, with their cars parked in the medium on the interstate. They were out SITTING on the hoods of their cars just to watch us go by.

It is a MUST do for any gearhead

My prediction for next year .... Of course it will start in Jersey. Then head west, maybe Carlisle, maybe Cleveland. I bet there will be a stop in Detroit or Nashville or both. They love both cities. Been to Detriot 3 times and Nashville 4 times. It will not get any farther west than Kansas City. They just don't go that far anymore.
