    Good news, Doug, good news.

    Hope she continues to improve!

Do you have a target date for when she comes home?

That's very good news! Wow, that much "pop" is crazy! I'm used to saying "soda" now that I'm in the South
One of the best things I did was give up Mountain Dew and all pop except 1 on the weekend occasionally.
We will continue to pray for her speedy, full recovery.

Me either, Ronnie ...me either !!!!!!!!!!

Well, to day saw even more improvement. They took out her central line and decreased her oxygen down to almost none. They had her sitting on the side of the bed for the first time and got her eating regular food.

This evening, they moved her from ICU to a regular room. Tomorrow's goal is to get her standing and walking around her room.

So far she's got a great attitude and seems willing to do whatever it takes to kick the Diet Cherry Coke habit and get her diabetes better controlled. I think this incident scared her pretty good so I'm looking for good things to come of this.

I have told her about the tremendous outpouring of prayers and support from our friends here, in WMCC and pretty much all over. We're both convinced it has made a huge difference.

                Thanks again, everyone.

I have tried to tell her in the past that 17-24 cans of "pop" is just way too much, but she's got a pretty wide stubborn streak in her. It's too bad it took something like this to get through to her.

Every Sunday it was a job to look in the ads from the paper to see where Coke was on sale. Nearly two cases of "pop" a day got pretty expensive!

I'm glad to hear you still remember to say "pop", at least you still have some Great Lakes culture left in there somewhere!

Thanks for your support! Say HI to Michelle from both of us.

Sounds like sepsis. Pretty serious problem. Glad to here she is getting better. Diabetes is the cause in most people imo. Bugs love the sugar. I had to see people getting their legs cut off from uncontrolled DM when I did my surgery rotation in med school. Man, it's a slow killer if unchecked.

I wanted to thank everyone again for your prayers and support.

We got Anita home from the hospital on Wednesday afternoon. It was 10 days in the hospital all together!

During her discharge process, the doctor told her he was very happy to see her smiling and ready to go home. He said when she arrived at the hospital, they only gave her a 50-50 chance of surviving. She's real sore where they operated, but making progress day by day.

It will be a while before she's very active again, but she's at least headed in the right direction now.

Very glad to hear that she came home, Doug - 10 days isn't too bad for that type of operation!

I wish her a quick and speedy recover to full health!
