Doesn't Matt Murphy work at Berger Chevrolet? And yeah, for some reason I thought that he lived on the West side of MI. That would be quite a drive.

No, he worked WITH Berger but is in Marietta Georgia. That is where all the Berger and other cars were shipped for modification then shipped back to Berger for sale.

I wish GMMG was in MI, I would be over there once a month or once every couple of months checking up on the project.

I have thought of packing up a trailer and heading down to GA, make a surpise visit and take my car home.

The Last I heard from Matt was Feb 09, the car is complete but the project partner (Source Interlink publishing (GM High Tech Perf Mag)) was giving him a hard time and asking for more money, yada yada... Well now you may know they filed for Chapter 11. I know Matt wants to partner with someone or some company for the project and I am sure that is where the hold up is, I just want an update.

Source interlink is bankrupt? I thought they were a huge mag company with TONS of varied titles. What was their involvement in this again?

You should come down for the F-body Gathering in Atlanta next weekend (22nd-24th) There is supposed to be an open house at GMMG on Friday night. Or I can pick up your car while I'm down there and drive it home

                http://www.fbodygathering.com

Matt Murphy is a great person and I don't want to say anything bad about him. But he has little help these days, and last I heard they seem to just work on their personal cars most of the time.

Yup, they are a huge Mag Company "Popular Hotrodding", "GMHTP", "Motor Trend" and the list goes on.....

GMHTP magazine and GMMG teamed up in October 2007 to build 15 GMHTP Performance Edition 35th packages (similar to 35th PE package only GMHTP would have their logo all over the car too. Well, back in late Winter 2008-2009, Source Interlink wanted more money from each car and the original package cost was going to increase by approx 25%! ugg. So Matt was hashing this out with Source Interlink and then all of a sudden they filed for chapter 11.

I am not sure how reliable this source is but....http://www.mediapost.com/publication...art_aid=104998

I agree with no communication, he needs to at least give me a short update. The problem is when he talks, he talks your ear off and it's such good info it's hard to get off the phone. I have been on the phone with him for 5 hours before!

Anyways, about the lawyer, I have talked to my lawyer and that is about as far as it has gone at this point, I don't want to have to that route if I don't have to.

Well, still no official update on the Z7D but thankfully GMMG did open their doors to the G13 gathering this past weeken and a fellow Illinois member had graciously taken note of all the Fbodies at GMMG's open house while at G13 and spotted my Z7D! So, I at least got an "unofficial" update and by the sounds of it, 10 other Camaro owners are in the same boat as I am. It seems the Z7D is mostly complete but lacking a project partner like the Dick Harrell cars or Berger Cars had. Matt is looking for someone or something to partner with for these 15 project cars and I am sure this is where the hold up is. I just wish he would at least tell me this in person or through the phone.

I may have some pictures to post that had been taken during this weekend.

Yes your car does still exist! Here it is...hope you don't mind me posting the pics.
I talked to Matt Murphy quite a bit this weekend. I did not talk to him about your car specifically because I didn't want to get in the middle of anything. He is a good guy so I wouldn't worry, but I understand that the work is taking way too long.

Matt did have fun cruising around his Berger drag car around at the show!

How long will you wait? What if he never finds a "partner"? I would take my truck and trailer down there and get my car if I was you. Doesnt matter if he is a good guy or not, he has had your car way to long. Plus he cant even call you to keep you updated.
