  • 1st Ever MI Firebird Club Meeting!

    Hello ladies and gents,

At the recommendation of one of our friends at the WMCC, Doug, we are going to have a meeting very soon. I am thinking sometime before Christmas somewhere central to everyone. I am open to suggestions. This will be a fairly informal meeting.

I WOULD LIKE EVERYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN THE CLUB TO ATTEND THIS MEETING. This will be a way for people to put names and faces together as well as to cover club business such as those who are chosen for staff positions to make themselves known to everyone.

By this meeting we should have most of the details worked out as far as membership and rhetoric. We will set up plans for more regular meetings on each side of the state for later this year as well as dicuss ideas on what we want from the club. I want everyone to feel like this is THEIR club. Hopefully this guesture would encourage particpation and the feeling of ownership in the club.

Fbodies are welcome, but not required. I don't expect to see many Fbodies cruising around in December.

This should prove to be a fun night and a great opportunity to get people together. In following with this I would like to hear some ideas you guys have on what you would like to see, hear, do, etc. ALL IDEAS ARE WELCOME!

Also Lets have a date that will be far enough off for people to get the time off but also not so far that we lose focus. I was thinking early to mid December so that those of us who are at school will have the time off and also it will give us some time to sort out the nitty grittys of the club.

We would be approaching Christmas so maybe a Christmas Party is in order?
    Thank you all!

    And with that... GO!

    Sounds good to me.

    Lansing works for me too.

The only dilema for me is they're sending me back to Mexico and I won't be available December 11th through the 16th.

Pre-Christmas may be challenging for some people...

        Sounds good to me too.

I will be out of town from Nov. 23-Dec. 3

I don't think it show be a christmas roll-in since you never know if it may conflict with certain peoples religion beliefs. IMO

WMCC has a christmas party every year. If it conflicts with someones beliefs they shouldn't come. IMHO

I don't intend to step on anybody's toes. I don't understand why we cannot celebrate the miracle of the Holiday season together regardless of our beleifs.

I don't intend to force religion down anyone's throats. The closest thing to religion I would even consider would be to ask for prayers for everyone's safe travel home. I don't think anyone would be opposed to that. I don't think anyone would be pissed if there were some tinsel and a christmas tree there.

I was hoping to get this rolling a little sooner. But whatever works for the club works for me. Now is the time to voice your opinions people.

I am not trying to tread on anyones beliefs either. I was just thinking that since this is the 1st meeting i would hate to think that someone did not show up because they did not feel comfortable with a holiday theme. I know people that don't celebrate the holidays. I am just bringing things to the attention on some that may not of known that.

I would suggest not going with a Christmas theme for your first meeting as it may draw the focus away from getting the Club set-up, and running. You would also need to make a reservation for the meeting room I suggested, once you settle on a date.
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

well don't most major religions have celebrations/holidays during this time of year? You could integrate the Christian, Islamic, Jewish, etc. holidays together or just call it a holiday celebration get together and not have a theme centered around certain religios holidays if it really matters.
