All Pontiac engines are considered "Big Blocks" from the 326 to 455 the block layout and configuration is the same...

LOL...Pontiac made 1 size block. They sure didn't make a small block.
I have never heard of Pontiac "big block" And I'm old lol!
Chevy was always big block / small block. Pontiac was...well...Pontiac lol.

You can say the same about Oldsmobile back in the day. But there blocks were still different from Pontiac.

Correct. And all of the parts were interchangeable for the most part (within "iterations").

For example: My dad had a '66 LeMans with a 326 shortblock, 389 heads and a 421 high-rise intake. All the stuff fit just fine to the stock 326.

Quite a few company's were like that, I noticed working on my AMC Jeep with the 304 that its all the same size block and all interchangeable, was thinking about punching it out to a 360, but thats another story.
