You would think for a Camaro (Firebird) event that Chevy/GM would be will to donate a place. Outside the heratige center or even shut down the river front in front of thier building. How about on the Willow Run property? The last time I was by there during a work week they had tomns of empty parking... Just inquiring...

In this day and age of everybody looking for someone to sue .... it's all about their lawyers and insurance companies telling them "don't do this, something happens, we get sued"Originally posted by MikeCio1 View PostYou would think for a Camaro (Firebird) event that Chevy/GM would be will to donate a place. HI everyone... boy, I need to check-in more often - didn't realize more comments were still being filed for this item.
As Randy has indicated, we have met with the Marriot people to see about having the show at the hotel to save some costs. We have also relooked at the budget and may have a way to get back to the park!! Helping that is a commitment from National Parts Depot and Ecklers parts for $500 sponsorships each!! For their donation, their names will be tastefully presented on the back of the event t-shirts. This is a first for CSF, but with a lower budgeted turnout and not as much money to work with for start-up, a necessary step. We also anticipate less awards, again due to lower attendance and to lower costs.
We're sorry this is taking time, but our members (EMCC) want to make as sure as possible that the event is doable finanically. It's looked VERY good and as Randy mentioned, we should have a final decision any day now.
I've got tons of event ideas swiming in my head... one new item will be a Saturday Night "drive-in movie" in the hotel parking lot. This will be instead of a banquet and will be no additional cost to participants. The movie planned - Transformers, of course!!
Also, as for Willow Run - that is where I work. Yes there is a nice grass area here that we have used for plant car shows and picnics/open houses. But it is a bit further from the hotel and I don't know if they would loan it out. LIke zmarc mentioned - lawsuits and big companies don't mix...
Please stay tuned!!

Thats too bad. I dont think I have ever heard of anyone getting hurt at a car show... You would think they would be more supportive. My wife uncle works at Willow Run Larry Sturza, Do you know him, heard of him?Originally posted by barry76Lt View PostAlso, as for Willow Run - that is where I work.
