LOL...I'd prefer big custom billet 20's on air ride and an LS1.

Glad I don't have to make the decision...lol...

As Posies says "Anybody can RESTORE a car, it takes a real MAN to cut one up!!!" The problem with making it stock is you can spend a ton of money and spend years searching for all the parts, then you just have a boring stock car with a LOT of time and money tied up into it! Most of the cars like this, guys start out with a shell and a handful of parts and not much else. Street rods are SO much more fun than stockers anyways. My dad has had a 39 Chevy street rod and then built a 46 Chevy street rod. He picked up a 41 Chevy that was original and stock. Neither he nor my mom really liked driving or riding in it and much preferred the street rod. He wound up selling it a few years ago. He still has his 46 Chevy street rod.

        Disagree completely.

Why butcher up a really rare car just to have it be like everything else on the road (i.e. SBC, rims, and a chopped top)?

        Yah...hoo.

Especially one like this...comments would be "Great looking Ford!".

Bah..have fun with your boring restored stockers. I've been into street rods and customs all my life. There are very few cars I cringe at being cut up. When they do a superb job of customizing them then they look awesome. I hate hack jobs done on rare cars though.

To me, the best of both worlds is a tastefully modded stocker. Like period speed parts on the original motor and reversed eye springs to get the chassis lower to the ground. As someone said above - nothing that was irreversable. After all, how cool is a modified car when there are no stockers left to compare with?

Hey Guys, this car will not be getting chopped end of story owner is not even interested in that. He rebuilding it to be a nice cruiser(his exact words). It belongs to a good friend of mines dad, he has had it since High school when hie traded his '57 nomad wagon for it. At that time the '33 had a 389 tri-power, a straight axle out front Alum slots on the rear and chrome reverse wheels on the front. He has put alot of cash into this car in the last few years to rebuild it the way he wants. It now has 4 linked 9 inch with 3:55 gears, independent front suspension, rack and pinion steering, Chevrolet ramjet 350, th350 trans and 17" E/T Classic Five wheels. This car is ALL steel with VERY little rust, most of what you are seeing in the pic with the running board is glue and the many different colors of paint that have been on it over the years. The car was last painted in the very early 80's. The complete interior is out of the car currently being redone again. all of the glass is out currently too, it out being polished to take all the little scrathes out that it has acquired over the years. The flipout windshield is also being rebuilt.

No actually he's not. 57's are cool now but back in the mid to late 60's they were just another 10 year old car.

Great story...I think I'd rather have this than a Nomad too...

If it was me, I'd put it back to how it was in the 60s...

It was that way up until about 2 years ago. It rode like a Hay wagon and didn't turn very well. The thing would turn right great but left was another story. A school bus had a better turning radius then this thing going left. LOL

paint that thing a different color and it would be very mean looking, id leave everything else alone.
