  • Bolt-in v.s Weld-in SFC

Is there any difference? I see that there is a price difference so I was just wondering.

I've always been told weld-ins are better - it makes sense too.

I just saw that the picture he has on his website is the same for both. I thought that there must be a difference because of price.

        good read for ya:

Do you have access to welding them in yourself or will you have to pay to have someone do it for you?

I can weld but not that well, and I'm guessing it will be really hard to do upside down LOL. I can however get them done for about $40 which is really cheap I think. Could you give me a shipped price to 49245 on both weld-in and bolt-in UMI tubular for a 95 z28 t-top car? thanks

yea the image is of the bolt on tubulars for both, umi uses the same image and didn't give me a image of the weld in. Check out the boxed weld in pic and you will see it is just a flat piece made to weld up.

when would you be paying? price goes up at midnight tonight for them due to UMI price increases. So when you will be placing the order makes a difference.

buy the bolt ins and then have them welded up later. i bought the weld ins and had to wait around to find time, a welder, and get the car up high enough to weld them in. it was a pita and still want to take the car somewhere and get my welds checked and possibly rewelded/touched up. definately can feel a difference though

Bolt ins are easier to install on a 2nd gen. That is what most people do. Bolt them in place then weld.
