  • Strike 2...

After replacing my burnt out headlight with the replacements I got, here's what happened after around 10 minutes of actual use....

At this point I'm not sure what to do... I have an extra replacement but whats to say this ones going to work. I examined the bulb before i put it in but it looks like it has tiny scratches on it so I think this one is as good as dead also. Not too happy at the moment

          I think so - that's unacceptable.

That's exactly what happens when a bulb is contaminated with something like oil, grease, etc..it becomes hot and deforms the glass. Scratches won't cause this type of problem. We can send you another replacement or refund you for the bulbs so you can use any brand 9006XS bulbs you'd like OR send the headlights back and we will do a full refund. Up to you. Shoot us an email.

Usually has a warning on the package to wear gloves or something when handling them because of how sensitive they are.

I don't have HID but I've been considering it for my Jeep and not just bulb replacement.

Just curious, would it be proper to clean the bulbs with Isopropyl 91% Rubbing Alcohol prior to first burn?

I would think the exact opposite. After all the problems these guys have had, the last thing they want is to possible f it up.

I work for a lighting company, and it was probably closer to 5. these things are ridiculously sensitive to impurities. Get a new set, inspect em before you install em, and dont touch em. theyll be fine. Ive seen this things bubble in a couple minutes under test before.

Glad I work in the LED divisin now.....

Wow - I really can't believe that it's happened twice. My set lasted for well over a year before mine went bad - although when mine did go bad it did burst like yours looks... but again, that was well over a year later. I've been using Silvania Silver Star 9006 bulbs with absolutely no problems.
