Well I just got back from Back to Bricks. They had a pretty good turnout considering the bad storms they were forecasting for that area!
As I rolled through town all these warning sirens were going off? We asked what was going on and they said a bad storm warning was in affect for that area with the possibility of hail and strong winds.
      I don't mind rain but I don't like hail!
The skies were black and the wind was picking up so we took off for home.
Well I did get a chance to check out my new cooling fan I installed and the engine stayed pretty cool, but now it blows all the hot air from the radiator and engine back on us.
The floor boards were getting really hot from the headers and the exhaust. I think I will put some insulation under the carpet tomorrow!
I went through 10 gallons of gas in 100 miles?
I usually get about 16 MPG!

Might try to make it to Woodward Friday afternoon.

The bad weather was north of us and we never even seen a drop of rain. I do agree that the cops are very heavy but you can run with your cut outs OPEN. I did last night and yes every cop looked but..............they say the car sounds good so why wouldn't they look. The cops tend to lighten up some as the night goes on. There has been a lot of spectators pulled over for drinking (makes it safer for us, right?). I myself would love to see some burn outs but.....I also hate say it, it's only a matter of time until some idiot gets stupid and somebody gets hurt.
The rolling cruise is still an awesome time. There is so much to do and see.
Don't forget to stop by and see us down town Saturday from 8am to 8pm

I felt the very same way, I doubt I'll go next year. It's not like they were allowing people to get crazy last year, if somebody got out of hand with the burnouts they got pulled over or if somebody was visibly intoxicated, they handled it. I think it just kills the whole vibe to see cops planted every other block and then see them flying up and down the road every few minutes. The whole reason I enjoyed the cruise last year was because it didn't feel like a parade, they're not going to attract woodward people by being the exact same thing....

            Thank's Brian.
Both B2TB and Woodward are good, both are fun and both run all week long so there is plenty of time to participate in both.

exactly, when someone cant keep their car straight burning out or uses both lanes to pull a burn out, then yes they should be ticketed..b2b is deferentially for the older people now. which the youth is the future so i dont know why they want to ruin it. and if someone would to get hurt due to a burn out, i can guarantee the person was well intoxicated and was in the street.. so they should have just cracked down on the alcohol this year and keep the burn outs.. either way its boring now. before the stop and go traffic didnt bother me because i got to have some fun, but am i really going to put the stress on my spec clutch to just sit there.. no.

Ive done both, dreamcruise is boring in comparison to B2TB, theres nothing to do on woodward like there is in flint, tons of booths, swap meets, livernois has a dyno there, etc.
I've been to the bricks. I haven't seen the "tons of booths, swap meets, etc that you speak of last year. Unless there's been some grand expansion in one year...I didn't see tons of booths last year.
You have any photos of the booths, or area where they would have been?

I would go again, but would do woodward first 8Am-12:00PM, then B2TB, and out by 5PM.
It isn't the place to be or park your car after 7PM.

Part of the reason amped up police force is due to lack of state revenue. It's easy money.

most is around the big parking lot, the uncoverd the hurst camaro and challenger, reved up the drag cars, and had dyno set up, stuff for sale shirts and things, nascar set up and eating tents all over. if you didnt see it then you didnt walk more than a block and went home to complain you cant have it your way, sat is just park and walk around, no crusing up and down the streets. burn outs..... so what who cars, i can do a burn out in a front wheel drive 4 cyl. its how your car sounds, cut outs, what about the drag cars running around with straight pipes?????? i guess its all how you feel but to cut down somthing you havnt done isnt right eather... and to say you havnt......... if you didnt see all the activity going on then you didnt do it all the way!

now i had fun at the bricks, last yr was good but had more fun this yr, was with the wife and some friends went with us, just awsome.

They sounded good but we were only able to hear them at idle during the cruise, not terribly exciting. I don't think a burnout in a front wheel drive 4 cyl. is as fun to watch as an old Camaro or some drag car either, regardless of sound. I'm just comparing it to last year, the cars were allowed to show off...a lot and it was fun and something that Woodward didn't do. Obviously there are enough people to support both of these events at the same time so they seem to know what they are doing I think we are just voicing our dissapointment with how much it changed in one year.

you guys are missing half the dream cruise if you don't see any burnouts. They are all over the place.

Did anyone see and hear our carbed LS engine? 320Cubic inch 640hp 9000rpm. We started it on our custom engine stand many times. It is amazing how many people would crowd around us.
Had an awsome time all week long.
