Have your buddy search on EBay for an aluminum driveshaft, weighs half as much as the stock V8 peice. Also, there are better choices for the rear end than the 7.5" 10 bolt stock rear end. . . Suspension can also be had cheaper on EBay, just tell him to not be picky. Instead of looking for stock parts, he could probably upgrade it cheaper.
