    Wanted: I need a 3rd gen donor car

    I almost wrecked my Bird the other night cause the rear lower control arm mount ripped from the body. Car jumped sideways, thought the axle was gonna come out for sure. This is the second time. I have welded my car back together 4 or 5 times. But its just gottin too bad to be worth the trouble.

    What I am looking for is any year 3rd gen Firebird, TransAm, Formula, or GTA that has a decent(savable) body, and an underside not rusted completely out(some rust ok), I dont care if it has an engine or tranny. I have everything needed from my Bird, or I also have a Chevy 283 built up just sitting around I could throw in it. I'm not too concerned about interior condition, my main concern is that the underside isnt rusted/rotted out like my Bird is.

    I cant afford a lot but I'm hoping to find something in the few hundred dollar range with no motor and/or tranny. Even if the rear end is gone, thats ok too cause I have a 10 bolt posi sittin in the shed.

    I have an 87 GTA rolling shell... body is pretty solid minus passenger foot spot.

      That sounds awesome

      I loved the GTA syling and had an 87, so I am very interested. Can you send me pics or post them here.

          FYI- There are 2-3rd gen Camaros and 1-3rd Gen Firebird at Spragues Junkyard in Muskegon, MI

            Thanks for the heads up, Unfortunately the junk yard cars are usually picked through fairly good and I dont think I want the headache of having to figure out whats missing and such, plus the yards make so much on the parts that they rarely want to sell cheap. Last time I tried to get a Bird from a salvage yard they wanted 1400 and the damn thing didnt even have an engine. The body was in great shape though, but still 1400 is way too much for a car with no engine.

                right by me there is a third gen camaro for $300
                It's easier to make a 3rd gen faster than to make a 4th gen look good

                    well ur boned lol, they are pretty much the same car tho, just use it to swap parts, we might get it just for that.
                    It's easier to make a 3rd gen faster than to make a 4th gen look good
