  • BADLY NEEDED: Tires

Heres the deal. As many of you know, I'm broke. I've always been broke, and now that I'm in college, I'm even more broke. I have a set of 17" and 18" Corvette Wagon Wheels, and I have a pair of Goodyear Eagle 17" Runflats for the front. Today, I went outside to drive to the library and write a paper, and, of course, one of my tires is flat. I feel the inside edge of the tire, and the steel belts have broken through. That's not good. All of my tires are in this shape, and I'd rather buy 2 18" tires than 4 16" tires. Does anyone know where I can find a pair of used but still decent 18" tires for less than like $120? That's all I have in my bank account, and now that I've moved back off campus, I really need transportation. If anyone has a pair lying around that can help me out, I'd really appreciate it and I'd be sure to pay them back when I get the money. I'm really going out on a limb here, I REALLY need tires. Thanks in advance, and I hope someone can help me here!

For $120, new 18s are out of the questions, so you might have to look around for good used ones or see if anyone here has extra 18s. the cheapest I can find on tire rack for 18s (245/40/18s) was $94

I ordered a pair of Falken 18"s from Sears Auto center for a little over $400, including mounting and balancing. Now I'm looking for a decent set of 17"s, the ones I have are in worse shape than I originally thought. I'd like some Falkens. Price doesn't matter, Used or new, doesn't bother me, because I'll be buying the 17's in the spring. The ones I have will last until I put the 'maro away for winter here in a couple of weeks, but when I get her back out, I'll need some new tires for the front. Here are the tires I just ordered:

get the stock size on the front. dont really need anything wider than that, they would just pull you around.

you should have just got some fuzion's.. nice tire for a good price. (what i have on mine)

Well, the price I told you all earlier was for 2 tires + mount & balance on all 4 wheels. What I paid for the tires alone was only about $360, so I'm not too upset. I only had $120, but my dad is helping me out. He said he'd rather that I buy new tires now and not have to worry about anything happening to them instead of buying used ones and having to replace them again next year. I'm ordering new front tires too, the price on those is going to be less than $300 for the pair, and I already paid for mounting and balancing. How much cheaper can you get me 4 Kumho Ecstas for, Jay? The sizes I want are 275 40 ZR18 and 245 40 ZR17
