WTB a car for my daughter

Starting to look for a car for my daughter. She's at MSU and will be needing a car for summer job and to take to school next fall. Want to keep it at $5k or lower but.... if something really nice comes along....
Must be automatic trans. Was possibly thinking AWD (saturn vue, trailblazer, ?) but really open to any good reliable transportation. If you hear about anything let me know. thanks

I did consider a V6 fbody if it would only had been a summer driver but want something more winter friendly to take to school
