  • WTB: Dash harness

Looking to buy a dash harness. I believe I need a 97-02 Camaro... A 93-02 TA might work. Not positive on that.

    Thanks.

You arent going to repin your existing harness to the upgraded plug?

I also want to point out that you need to use a 97 cluster. Even though the 98 and better will fit, the fuel gage uses a different resistance. So it wont work with the sender in your tank. Just a heads up.

Edit. The above being said, that may also limit your harness choices. For instance, the 98 fuel sender is grounded in the pcm, not the chasis. It shares this ground with the pump. And some sensors in the tank that your car wont have. So it may be even more problematic than just the tank. I think it may be easier to just repin the cluster connector to your new cluster.

I'm aware of needing a 97 specific cluster. I wouldn't be replacing the entire body harness.

Also Nick would of already swapped yours over to the newer harness. The headlight switch is different, fog lights, radio, trunk release..etc. It's more than just the cluster.

Yeah Joe's harness is still the 1994 one all I did is re wire the cluster connector, headlight connector, move fog light connector, move and re-wire hatch release, Move and re-wire rear defroster, Cut and re-wire the 12v plugs from 1 to 2...I don't think I am forgetting anything...the HVAC wires and vacuum lines are the same...just the rear defrost moves from the panel under the steering column to the HVAC control. And Joe's I also ran all new speaker wires behind dash simply because the bose speaker wiring was so dumb.
