  • WTB: 7730 ECM for 91 Firebird

Just like the title says, I want a 7730 ECM and possibly a BS "performance" chip to put in it to get 'er running again. Started with the SES light on first thing after work, and it running like poop, but it went off after a few minutes. Scanned it, turned up no codes - no matter. I go out a few hours later, SES on again, runs like poop. Quick test drive, still runs like poop and this time, I can't get my scanner to communicate. Now the SES flashes rapidly and I cannot communicate. So I need a computer and possibly prom ...

Custom prom would be nice for a 305 TBI, but honestly a stock prom or one of those BS aftermarket "performance" proms would be fine. Let me know what you have, my car's dead in the water until I get a ECM for it ...

    Thanks
    91 Firebird 305 TBI

Would my stuff work for you?? My car had a performance chip in it as well but I don't know much about it. I might even have a stock one around too...

It might, can't say for sure. What is the part number on the ECM? I can always put my own chip in it even if yours doesn't work. I totally forgot you still had yours lol

I dont know the part number off hand, but its yours free if you can use it. I might still have a part of it in the car (not hooked up) but whatever you need if my stuff will work for you its yours. I just dont know if it being from a 1992 will matter. Car was originally a 305 car previous owner put the 350 in and said he changed the chips?

Sweet sounds like it might work. It was a TBI originally wasn't it? I might not be able to use the chip that's in it currently, but I can probably use your computer and put a new chip in it.

Yes sir, 305 TBI originally, and as far as I know it is the original computer just the chip was changed. I know he gave me a stock chip for it as well, but I would have to find it.
